Hollow Earth Radio is the Pacific Northwest's freeform online radio station that presents a forum for underrepresented music, sounds and perspectives. We are located in the Central District, Seattle's historically African American neighborhood and later in 2016, we will begin broadcasting terrestrially (KHUH 100.3 FM) as a Low Powered FM station. Through the lens of media justice, we work directly with the community to build a training curriculum for people to become citizen journalists, DJ's, sound engineers and more while providing a venue for artists and performers to showcase their work. Dignity and Power Now (DPN) is a grassroots organization based in Los Angeles that fights for the dignity and power of incarcerated people, their families, and communities. In doing so DPN wages a fight for all lives because the prison industrial complex forms an imaginative limit on everyone’s capacity to envision freedom and liberation. Dignity and Power Now has several projects including an activist coalition, an artist collective, a zine, a research and reporting group, a leadership institute, and even a reentry program inside a state prison. Immediate campaign focuses include establishing comprehensive and effective civilian oversight of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and allocating the money from the two billion dollar jail plan into mental health diversion programs and community health centers.

Community Technology Network (CTN) unites organizations and volunteers to transform lives through digital literacy. We believe that access to the Internet is a human right and that those without the necessary computer skills are at risk of social and economic disadvantage. In partnership with open-access community computer centers across the San Francisco Bay Area, CTN delivers free computer skills programs to those in need. CTN also provides its partners with support, guidance, and resources to improve their digital literacy programs. At this time, a large proportion of CTN’s activity is focused on our SF Connected program, which serves older adults and adults with disabilities at senior centers throughout San Francisco. The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights advances racial and economic justice to ensure dignity and opportunity for low-income people and people of color. We are building a people-powered movement to end mass incarceration, criminalization, and state violence by moving funding away from prisons and punishment and toward family-driven solutions that improve public health, safety, and prosperity for all communities.

The Southwest Workers’ Union (SWU) is an organization of low-income workers and families, community residents, and youth, united in one organizational struggle for worker rights, environmental justice and community empowerment. Based in San Antonio, Texas, SWU empowers and organizes its 2,500 members through education, leadership development, and direct action.

We work with movements to tell great stories that inspire, activate and enliven our democracy. We believe that social movements thrive and win when they draw on participants’ personal experiences and local cultures. By telling stories—whether in the form of performance, radio, video, or other media—movements build power, envision new democratic possibilities, and change culture and policy. Our work is located at the intersection of arts, technology, and policy.

The Media Mobilizing Project builds leaders - leaders who use their stories to make our organizing stronger; and who build the movement for human rights and to end poverty. Since its founding in 2005, MMP has used strategic media and communications to intervene in critical human rights struggles from public education to healthcare, media reform and public services. MMP does this through working with low-wage workers, youth, immigrants and other communities on media collaborations, narrative development, training and education in audio/video production, digital literacy and human rights.
